Lunar governance

The public rules and institutions needed before lunar activity becomes routine.

What it is

Lunar governance concerns how humans coordinate access, infrastructure, science, safety, resource support, heritage protection, and conflict resolution on the Moon.

Why it matters

Early practices can harden into expectations. Governance work before settlement helps reduce avoidable conflict later.

Current governance gap

The Moon Agreement has limited adoption, while the Outer Space Treaty provides broad principles but not a complete administrative system.

CGI work

The Lunar Project uses research nodes to test how administration and public-interest safeguards might function.
